Summary: Sinbad has been on a number of incredible journeys in both the original stories and cinema. And it only made sense that there would be a modern take on the great adventurer. That is, if he were the heir to an oil rig company and the monsters were typical Asylum-grade fare. But alas, like any Sinbad tale, there are diamonds in the rough.

History: Adrien Sinbad is the next to inherit a rather unethical oil company. But then, the place breaks down, and he gets stranded on an unknown island alongside some friends and foes. As it turns out, the pollution has angered Elmec Ishu, the God of the area that will rain down the apocalypse on modern man if Sinbad doesn't undo all the damage his legacy has done. Alas, his journey won't be easy, as it is rife with all sorts of unlikely creatures. And most of them are hungry for his flesh.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After losing just about everyone that came with him sans the hot warrior lady he found on the island, Sinbad manages to remove the sunken rig, and in return, he and the woman are rescued and returned to the surface by a kindly giant squid sent by a grateful Elmec Ishu. Also, the end times stop.

Powers/Abilities: The sirens can lull people to their lair with their singing.

Weakness: Heavy artillery.

Scariness Factor: 3-There are definitely a lot of things here that can kill you. But in spite of the sheer variety, the bad CGI you'd expect from an Asylum picture strikes again, and renders their presence a moot point for the most part. Of course, another thing that gets in the way is that nothing here is unbeatable, and the largest/most powerful of beings are either ignorant of the outside world or curious creatures willing to lend a hand or eight.

Trivia: -The living island was actually a part of Sinbad's old tales. Like here, it was an island on the back of a whale, but in this case, Sinbad was the only one not to escape its submersion, and he was lost at sea for a very long time.

-Although it's easy to think that this film was meant to cash in on "Clash of the Titans", it's more likely that they were banking on "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time". You can blame the tagline and release date for that.
